Manifesto (n) a public declaration based on intentions, opinions, objectives, or motives as issued by a government or organisation.
A great resource that I managed to find based on Graphic Design Manifestos specifically was the Manifesto Project which is an on-going curation of Manifestos, from the well known to the exclusively produced.
It includes great examples of Manifesto's which include the First Things First Manifesto and the re-written version of the First Things First 2000 Manifesto. The well known Work Hard and Be Nice to People Manifesto by Anthony Burrill features within this collection as well as the 10 Things I Have Learnt Manifesto by Milton Glazer;
"But we are proposing a reversal of priorities in favour of the more useful and more lasting forms of communication.We hope that society will tire of gimmick merchants, status salesmen and hidden persuaders, and that the prior call on our skills will be for worthwhile purposes"
- Ken Garland 'First Things First' Manifesto
"Work Hard and Be Nice to People"
- Anthony Burrill 'Work Hard and Be Nice To People' Manifesto
"Obsessions Make my Life Worse and my Work Better"
- Stefan Sagmeister 'Obsessions' Manifesto

Politics: The principles of democracy gives an ideal scenario to live where the population have their say and where every man, woman and child is entitled to their right to vote. The need for fairness is necessary within politics and should be done by individuals who have a passion and enthusiasm for the need to improve peoples lives instead of being motivated by greed and power.
Society: Having an inclusive society creates a environment where there is a sense of safety and belonging amongst, not just close-knit communities, but as national and international communities. Acceptance and open-mindedness within society means that those who oppose this are influenced by the majority, allowing us to have changing attitudes which continue to improve for the better.
Culture: As a nation, we have developed a culture which encompasses all aspects of varying lifestyles thereby enriching our society with its multi-cultural influence. Having a culture like this is important for us to become more understanding of other cultures apart from our own, making us become more accepting and introducing us to new things thereby changing society for the better.
History: History is important as it has shaped the world we live in today which makes it integral to how we continue to grow as a global community and progress into the future. We can learn from the mistakes, struggles and triumphs that our ancestors made and provides us with traditions that allow us to remember those who have made such an impact on our lives.
