Context of Practice 3: Concept Proposal Presentation

We have been asked to try and come up with an idea and some concept direction as to which subject we would like to tackle for our dissertation next year

Areas I could include in Dissertation subject
Dissertation Presentation Topics

I tried to think of things that I find of interest to me, both personally and as a designer. I have a tendency to lean towards branding as it is something that I enjoy but I also enjoyed doing about consumerism this year as well.

One thing I thought of was my personal experience of working in a supermarket and how it really annoys me how the packaging for the products in the store are copies of leading brands and have no individual identity for the shop itself. It is like the products are copies of the leading brand trying to manipulate people to feeling comfortable buying them from the reputation of a different product. I felt this would be really interesting to look at the brand loyalty these customers have to be able to buy a product based on how it looks and what makes them loyal in the first place.

I produced a presentation showing some of the aspects of this theory

The presentation itself was very plain with a lot of text on the last page but the rest of it was just images as it allowed me to talk about this idea, with the presentation going very well. The concept was great but it was felt like the idea needed to have more of a streamlined aspect and should have more of a psychological aspect to it then I was suggesting so that this would be able to give background knowledge and feed into these elements.

In response to this feedback, I had to produce a project proposal form.

I felt like alot of the questions I couldn't answer yet but I knew what I was aiming for was clearly put down on the proposal.
