For Context of Practise, we have been asked to find an example of design we love and an example of design that we hate.

I keep selecting Noma Bar's work to go up on my Blog but I can't help it. I think he is a great designer as he can create a simple, minimalistic image and have it complie its function, tone of voice, message and opinion all in one. His pieces are thought-provoking yet hard-hitting and to-the-point, making sure the audience gets the message. Visually, his style compromises of block, bold colour and black shapes to produce forms which I think produces a strong graphic identity.
Hate:
I came accross this image when seacrhing through Pinterest and couldn't believe that someone has produced this image as a serious attempt at Graphic Design. I don't like the 'bubble writing' style typeface as it seems very clumsy and unplanned, with lack of spacing and unclean linework. I don't like the pattern within the type as it is quite disconnected throughout the whole image and I don't like the colouration as it seems quite amateur, particularly put against a white background when the colouration has already been saturated in places to pure white. I understand the 'Hippie' concept of the slogan and the choice of colour and type but it's no excuse.
